One Time, One Meeting

This article is a submission to the "BlogBlog Gathering" event, which was recommended to me last month by Wen, a friend from the guitar community. Thanks to my guitar student Ivan, I was able to set up this personal website. Wen discovered it and encouraged me to participate in this event! If anyone is interested in this platform, feel free to reach out to Threadpages. I first heard the phrase "one time, one meeting" as the title of an article posted by a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. After looking it up, I learned it means "perhaps you'll only meet once in a lifetime, so be fully present in the moment and leave no regrets." While I was happy to be taken seriously, I also thought to myself: is it really that dramatic? 😆

August: Typhoon Season × Tokyo Guitar Shopping × New Companion

Typhoons have been unusually frequent this year, disrupting many travel plans. I was worried about flight cancellations before this trip, but fortunately everything went smoothly. I'm excited to show off my new guitar – an HD-28 (2001)! Picking up this guitar was quite unexpected. Lately, I've become fascinated with the sound of American-made guitars like the classic Gibson J-45 and Martin D-28. While I don't think these guitars suit my personal solo style, they're the standard tone you hear in folk music. They're what you'd call working guitars!

Education and Connection

After living in Taipei for over thirty years, there are few places I haven't been—though some I've only passed through without actually visiting. Last Saturday, I participated in a special event: a graduation ceremony held in a rice field at a small farm in the hills behind Sanzhih. It was an annual activity organized by a Taipei kindergarten, where children about to enter elementary school harvested the rice they had planted themselves. A truly meaningful experience.

Essay: The Age of Grand Openings in 2026

Last weekend I performed at Le Fang Performance Space in Tamsui. Kids who grew up in Taipei probably have some memories of Tamsui, right? In those early years when I decided to pursue music, I was still living in my hometown of Sanxia and would occasionally come to Tamsui to clear my head. During that period of confusion, sitting in the shade by the Tamsui River was one of the few times I could truly relax.
